Welcome back Purefoy families! I hope you had a wonderful 2 week break! It was so good to see all of the kid’s smiling faces this morning. They are already back in the swing of things and learning new things. I checked in on kinder and first grade this morning and they haven’t skipped a beat! Kindergarten was working on story retelling and first grade was doing their math warm up and talking about fact families and related word sentences.
We have several exciting things going on this month! We have 4th grade going to safety town, Multicultural night, End of the 2nd nine weeks, and our Celebration of Learning assembly. Our multicultural night is January 13th, and we hope you are able to join us as we celebrate our different cultures and learn about others.
The students have a 4 day weekend coming up on January 14th-17th!!!! I know they are already looking forward to another break. On January 14th teachers will be hard at work as we spend the day examining our values and beliefs as professionals. It will be a wonderful day to do some self-reflecting and defining our future as a campus and district. It will be a great day for us to grow together in our journey as teachers!
On January 21st we will be having our Celebration of Learning assembly in the cafeteria at 8:05. It is a great time for you to come and celebrate with our Purefoy family all that we have learned this past nine weeks!
We are also going to be kicking off our new no-tardy reward program called, “Don’t be Tardy for the Party”. Each class with ZERO tardies for the week will be recognized at the Friday assembly and the teacher will get to wear one of our stylish “Flavor-Flav inspired” tardy clock necklaces. We are hoping this will be a great positive reinforcement for all classes with no tardies.
